My new love

I now have a new love, coupons!  I have always loved shopping and getting good deals and so I just love this.  I don't know why it has taken me so long to do this, I knew that people did it, but I guess I was just too lazy to do it.  Well not anymore!  I love it.  I have gone into Walgreen 5 times this week already and have gotten lots of things. I think I spent around $25 for all of this (that's with all the tax and everything) and still have $10 in register rewards!  I'm actually tempted to go in one more time and get a few more free things :).   I do have to be careful, because I might spend too much time doing it and neglecting my children.

FYI... I get all my information from the websites listed under my "money saving blogs"

Horse Rides

Ever since Keyne was born I haven't been the greatest mom.  I find myself not wanting to do anything with my kids.  I didn't want to play with them and I just waited for Terry to come home so he could play with them.  They have had a LOT of tv time.  Lately I have realized that I need to cherish the moments that I have with them because they won't last forever.  I need to start enjoying the time I have with them.  So today I decided to turn off the tv and get down and play with them.  I gave the boys horse rides around the living room.  Well Keyne starting crying, so I had to get something for him.  When I got back Kanyon was on the ground and trying to get Tyce on his back.  I put Tyce on and Kanyon gave him a little ride.  It was so cute!  I love it when those 2 play well together!

Gotta love results

Well if you haven't noticed yet... I have an obsessive personality.  If I ever start something, I have to finish it (immediately because I lose sleep if I don't) or I have to continue doing it regularly.  This applies to most everything in my life, this blog, scrapbooking, journaling, painting or any project that I start.  Well sometimes it has some benefits, I get things done.  Something that I have been obsessing about recently is getting down to my pre-pregnancy weight.  I started Weight Watchers and started exercising.  Well I have been able to get the weight off, but it didn't come easy.  I actually had to control what I was eating ( I wrote down the points everyday) and I basically exercised everyday (except Sunday) for about 5 weeks.  Watch out Newtons... I'm not done yet and I'll be ready by the time of the reunion :)

Before.... a few minutes before going into the hospital to have Keyne.  Notice the rosy cheeks... that's from lovely contractions :)
After.... 3 months later, a beautiful little boy and 30 pounds less.

3 months

Keyne is already three months, time is flying by!  Now if only pregnancy went this quick.  He is such a fun baby.  I really like having a little baby, he doesn't talk back and he doesn't get into trouble.  He is just great, most of the time when I talk to him he talks back and just smiles at me. It is so nice to have someone that prefers me rather than Terry :).   He is now starting to giggle, it's so cute!

Spring is here!

I have really enjoyed the Spring weather so far this year.  It's always interesting here, at least we haven't had any hail storms or tornado warnings yet.  We have been having 80 degree weather all week and the boys have loved it!  We have even gotten our first sunburns, I always forget about the sunscreen.  Spring does comes with some unpleasant smells... cows.  This morning it was beautiful outside but pretty smelly, I still haven't gotten used to the smell.  Everyone has been out working on their yards and silly me has been in a bathroom all week painting.  Maybe now I can go and enjoy the sun!

A Painting We Will Go

Now that tax season is over I can start on the projects I have been wanting to do.  I have been watching too much HGTV because there is so much that I want to do to our house.  I can't do everything, so I decided just to paint for right now.  We are painting all of our brown trim white.  I always forget how time consuming painting is.  I really don't like painting, but I love the results.  On Saturday we started on the bathroom.  It's going to take a long time to get all the house painted, I'm hoping by the end of the summer we will get it done.

This is the before picture... this the color of brown our whole house has.  It's not horrible, but the white makes is much brighter.
Here's the after picture, there is a door for the closet, I just haven't put it up yet.The cabinets were the same color of brown as the doors and we got new hardware for it.
One room down, only about 10 or 11 to go.

Our Fun Filled Day

Today we decided to have a fun day, we just played and celebrated that tax season is over.  We are usually don't spend money on entertain much, but we decided that today it was okay and that we all earned it.  The day started with McDonalds for lunch (Terry and I went to Quiznos) and then we went bowling.  We all really enjoy bowling and had a good time.  Then we went to the movies theaters (we never do this... and I got reminded why today, it's way expensive!) to see Monsters vs. Aliens.  It wasn't my favorite movie, but the boys enjoyed it.  Tyce actually watched the whole thing, which was really surprising to me.  Overall it was just great day and it was nice to go and have fun with the boys.  Tyce holding his ball, it probably weighs more than him :).  He actually held it constantly and wouldn't put it down.Tyce bowling on his own.... it didn't make it all the way down
Kanyon bowling... he does a good job, he even puts his fingers in the holes
Kanyon watching his ball go down the lane

Keyne slept through the whole thing

Yup, I worked everyone :)  Terry started out with a strike, but it sure didn't end that way.  (If you can't see, his score is 87).  Really not the best game for either of us.

We survived!

Today is tax day and that means that tax season is finally over!  You would think that being the daughter of an accountant that I would have learned my lesson.  It actually went fairly quick, but it was still really hard.  I really don't know what we were thinking, having a baby during tax season, two exhausted parents is never good.  I am so impressed with Terry, he decided that he was going to go in to work at 5:00am everyday so he wouldn't miss time with boys.  I honestly didn't expect him to do it but he made it, the whole three months.  He sure was exhausted though and it was getting harder and harder as the months went on.  He is amazing though and I am so grateful for him.  We have a four day weekend now and we are going to party!!!!

ER visit

It seems like if you are a mother of a boy, you will go to the ER many times.  This hasn't been any different for me, lets just say that both Kanyon and Tyce have had cat scans before they turned one.  Well today we had an adventure, it's always an adventure in our house.  Tyce was playing with a plastic rod (for a tent) and for some reason wanted to put it in his mouth.  Well he decided to climb over the chair onto the couch.  Well he fell onto the rod and it went right into the roof of his mouth.  He was bleeding like crazy and it was a decent sized gash, so we decided to take him in.  Luckily Terry was able to take him (going to the ER with three kids just didn't seem like a good idea).  They checked him and told us that he couldn't get stitches in that part of his mouth (it was pretty close to his throat) and so it just has to heal itself.  I'm so glad that he didn't have to get stitches, I just worried about them trying to get into his mouth.  He won't even let me look in his mouth to see if he's teething.  They are going to put him on antibiotics for a couple of days to make sure it doesn't get infected.  I'm glad that he's okay, I'm realizing that I need to get more educated with first aid because things always seem to happen when it's just me at home.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  We had a good Easter.  The boys had a blast hunting for Easter eggs and I always have fun watching them.  It seems like everywhere is having nice weather... we got rain.  We need rain though so it's not too bad.  The boys have had three egg hunts this year, so we have a lot of candy (my diet is not going very well, I finished a bag of mini cadbury eggs in 1 1/2 days).  The boys always gets money in their eggs (something my parents did) and they were pretty excited about it.  Kanyon already has plans for his :)Tyce is pretty excited about his money... look at that face!Kanyon right after he found an egg, he got pretty excited!

Dyeing Eggs

Today we dyed easter eggs.  It's always adventure with the boys.  I figured that the best bet would be to not have any clothes at all.  They of course really enjoyed themselves and had fun.  Tyce was a handful, he knocked over the blue dye....  Keyne enjoyed just watching the boys.  Kanyon of course just used the yellow dye.  We have had fun hunting for eggs, we have already done two egg hunts.  It's nice to have a distraction from tax season for a little bit.Kanyon with his yellow eggs and yellow hands.Tyce with his blue eggs and blue hands.
Keyne just chilly with his Dad... man he's getthing chunky :)

Obsessed

With himself!

Keyne has discovered himself lately, and he loves it!  He will just lay on the floor looking in the mirror and talk to himself.  He'll lay there for 30 minutes, just looking, smiling and talking.  At times he even calms himself down.   It is just so cute!

Hair pics

Here a few pictures of my hair... I don't love it but I like it much more than the long look, it's a lot easier too.  It looks better in person, it doesn't look as flat as in the pictures.  I just don't like pictures by myself, the kids are so much cuter and are a distraction from me :).  I decided to get layers and wish I wouldn't have, but I guess I'll just have to remember that next time I cut my hair.  Before I straightened it, I was pretty curly and it made me look like I was in my mid 40s, haha!

Killing too birds with one stone

During pregnancy and having a baby, I just need to change myself in some way. During pregnancy I want change to try to feel pretty because growing bigger doesn't make me feel pretty. After pregnancy the extra layer of fat that it really hard to get rid of, makes me want to change something. I tried having a change by perming my hair. That didn't work, it totally fried my hair and made it fall out. So I decided to cut my hair today, I just couldn't take it anymore. When I want change, I don't go subtle... I cut at least 6 inches off today. With the end of tax season coming, Terry has been working more. So I have to be creative about the time that I have, so I ran to the salon to get my run in. Too bad the first salon I went to was all booked up, so I had to run to another one a mile away. It's still too soon to tell if I love my hair, I do like that it feels healthier. Maybe soon I'll post pictures, if I like it :)

Speech Group

Kanyon got to go to speech group today for the first time.  It's only an hour long, once a week, but at least it is something to help him.  It was crazy to watch him get on the bus and just go to school, like a big boy.  I really don't know if he enjoyed himself, they said that they talked a lot and only played one game.  Without any suggestion from me, Kanyon picked a flower and said that he was going to give it to his teacher (which he did).  I thought that was so cute and sweet of him!  If you look closely, he can see the flower in his hand.

Being a Mom is just plain hard!

*Warning* there will probably be complaining....

Does anyone ever just get sick of their kids??  Well I do, a little more than I would like to admit.  Right now, Kanyon just plain annoys me.  For the past month he hasn't had the structure that he needs and so he wants me to entertain him.  Every 10 minutes he asks me what we are going to do.  And when he doesn't like the answer he cries and runs into my room.  Well because he is bored he has been getting into a lot more trouble (3 out of the 4 curtains that I have put up have now been pulled down, rod and all).  So more crying happens and I get to listen to him say "Daddy" over and over again.  At least once a day he tells me, "I don't want you, I want Daddy."  And I"m not going to lie, it really hurts to hear that over and over again.  Recently I thought that he was going to be going to school but on Monday I found out that that is not going to happen.  They said that he is too advanced and that his speech isn't bad enough to be in the classroom.  Here I thought that preschool was going to be taken care of, but now it's not and I have to try to register for one.

Tyce is having major separation anxiety and hasn't gone to nursery seen Keyne has been born.  Whenever we go to playgroup, he spends most of the time sitting on my lap.  Because Kanyon has been bored it seems like they fight more often and just cause chaos.  Tyce is your typical 2 year old, doesn't listen whatsoever.  So whenever we go anywhere, I seems like I am carrying Tyce in one arm and Keyne in his carsear in the other ( I should have some buff arms soon).  And if I just let him walk, he will run way ahead of me or is too slow and Kanyon is way ahead.  No wonder I just don't want to go anywhere with all three kids.

Keyne is so sweet, but sometimes I just don't want to see his face as often in the middle of the night.  Someday I'll have a baby that sleeps well in the night.  The other night I was up for 3 hours with Keyne and Tyce and then up again with Keyne for another hour.  Things just don't go well when I don't have as much sleep as I need.

Is it too much to ask for to get an hour by myself?  With Kanyon and Tyce not taking naps at all, it doesn't happen very often.  I do have them do quiet time so I can get something done, but it's never quiet and my basement never looks good afterwards.   Sometimes I think to myself, "what was I thinking having kids so close together, it's hard."  Hopefully as time goes on, it will get easier and I will love having them so close in age.
