Weight Watchers

Since just exercising wasn't doing the trick, I haven't decided to do weight watchers.  I had a friend explain to me the system and soon I will go to a meeting and really get into it.  I don't like to diet... sometimes I really just don't want to turn the food around and look at the nutritional info because it is usually a slap in the face.  It is nice to know what I am eating and making me realize how many calories I am eating.  Ever since I've had Keyne, I have really liked food.  I have been eating big meals and snacking a lot.  I thought that I was doing good, butI wasn't, a handful here and handful there really start to add up.  Luckily I'm a nursing mom because I get 10 extra points :).  I can already tell a difference, I have lost 4 pounds this past week.  Hopefully soon I will be in all my normal clothes.

Snow day

Yesterday we had a blizzard, we got lots and lots of snow.  So much snow that Terry didn't go into work yesterday and had to get a ride today to go.  I can handle blizzards, I am used to snow.  Kanyon and Tyce were pretty excited about it and only lasted a couple of minutes because the wind was so cold.  The snow was out today, so we got to play in it.  I had to shovel the road so we could get out of our driveway.  Terry shoveled last night, and made this hill.  The boys had fun sliding down it today!

2 months

Keyne had his two month appointment today.  I always feel so bad when they have to get shots, it just breaks my heart but I know it's for their own good.  Keyne actually did really good through the whole thing.  He cried a little but calmed down when he ate and then just went to sleep.  He is now 10lbs 6 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long.  His weight is 25th percentile and his height is 10th, so he's short and chunky.  I looked back at Kanyon and Tyce's measurements at this age... Kanyon was 11lbs 6 oz and 23 1/2 inches and Tyce was 10 lbs and 22 3/4 inches.  He's not even close to Kanyon and surprisingly is pretty close to Tyce.  Tyce must have been longer and thinner and Keyne must be rounder.  He's a healthy baby though and a happy one too!

Yoga

We got our new Wii Fit yesterday and have enjoyed playing it.  We haven't played too much because it takes quite away to get everyone set up.  Me and the boys enjoyed some Yoga today.  Can I just say that they are just so cute doing the poses!

Popcorn Popping

We got a big package today and it was filled with popcorn.  Well of course Tyce couldn't resist getting in and then came Kanyon.  They had a blast in it, Tyce laid down.  Kanyon jumped in too.  It was great until they dumped it out... it's not fun picking up so much popcorn!  But at least the boys had fun!

Full of personality

Tyce is full of personality, in other words, he's pretty moody.  At one moment he can be as happy as can be and the next moment he screaming.  Somedays he wants everything to do with me and other days he doesn't want anything to do with me.  He's one of those kids that you just have a wait for him to be ready and rushing him just makes it worse.  Some mornings he wakes up super happy, other mornings not so much.  Most mornings he is screaming and I have to go downstairs to get him.  When I enter the room, he screams more and so I just have to wait for him to come out.  Some mornings he'll just come upstairs on his own.  This morning was a pleasant surprise, when he came up this morning, I saw this!  Just as happy as can be!
My favorite quote from Tyce recently: He was poopy and so I was saying to him "P.U. ,P.U!"  His response back: "P Me P Me!"

Smilely Keyne

For the past two weeks, Keyne has been learning to smile.  Each day I try really hard to get him to smile, but he doesn't just smile at anything yet.  The past couple of day, he has actually been smiling more and more.  It still takes a little bit of work, but it so worth it.  I love it when babies start to smile, it just so sweet.  He of course has the adorable coo that goes with the smile.  Last night, Terry finally got to see him smile.

Go green

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I actually really like this holiday, I get to dress in green and make sure that everyone else is wearing green.  Let's just say, I love green!!  We had a fun day, woke up and made green pancakes, I remember my mom doing this for me when I was in kindergarten.  Then we went to a park for a picnic because the weather was absolutely beautiful!  Kanyon likes holding Keyne.  As you can see, Keyne is starting to chunk up, he doesn't look like a newborn anymore :S.
Tyce wouldn't take a picture with the boys, so I just had to take one of him by himself.

Sometimes I drive myself nuts!

I am one of those people that likes to be unique and be my own self.  I think that it has to do with the fact that I am the youngest of 9 kids.  Well because I am like this, I want my kids to be unique and I treat them like they are all different, but I want to make sure I treat them all equally.  For example, when I write in my journal or on the blog, I try not to write too much on just one child.  Well I do the same thing with scrapbooking.  I want to make sure that I scrapbook for them all equally.  And with the whole unique thing, I make sure that if I take a picture, I make sure they are not wearing a shirt that the previous boy wore (in a picture).

Well anyway, the reason why I drive myself nuts.  When Kanyon was a baby, I had no problem doing a 4 page spread instead of just 2 pages.  I did a lot of pages for him, I had nothing else to scrapbook and I had a little more time than I do now.  Well because I did that for Kanyon, I feel like I have to do it for all of my kids.  I did it for Tyce and so I have to do it for Keyne.  Well now it's really hard to do that many pages, I really don't have that much time and now I have three kids scrapbooks to do.  It can be a little stressful at times, but I'm making progress at least.  I have already done 15 pages for Keyne, and I'm not even to him being a week old!

Maybe someday my kids will appreciate that I treat them as equals.  But I'm sure since I have boys, they will just care less and never even pay attention to the small details.  Oh well, maybe I really do it more for myself :)

We are getting out of here!

Well we are finally better and are getting out of the house.  I'm really glad that it only lasted 24 hours for me, so I could continue to take care of the boys.  It has been a long week though, Kanyon is going crazy from lack of structure and activities.  Both boys have just wanted to go outside and play, but we are actually having cold days here and so that wasn't an option.  So we have been going to the library, McDonalds and one of my favorites, stores.  There have been some really good coupons online lately for diapers, and so I have made frequent trips to Walgreens.  I ended up getting 12 packs of jumbo diapers for about $65.  I love getting a good deal, it just brightens my day :).  I think that the people at Walgreens are sick of me though, not that I agrue or cause problems... it's just the kids, they knock down things all the time.  Tomorrow I'm going to go to Target and get stocked up on Applesauce.

In other news, we have been going to several meetings for Kanyon's speech.  At first they thought that he would just need speech group, which meets once a week for an hour.  Well when he was retested, they learned that he has a lot of sound errors.  He is understandable for the most part, he just defaults to a "w" sound when he can't say another letter.  Well they suggested having him go to the early childroom classroom, so we went on Wednesday for them to observe him in the classroom.  They were very impressed with him, they think that he will add a lot to the classroom because he has many skills that the other kids can learn from.  They said he is like one of the peer students with some sound errors.  So hopefully soon, Kanyon is going to be going to school 4 times a week for 2 1/2 hours, yay!  I'll miss him, but after these last few weeks I think it's the best for both of us :).

It just gets worse

Well the sickness went from not too bad, to horrible yesterday.  Both Kanyon and I got it.  It's not easy trying to take care of three little boys when you're in the bathroom.  Luckily Tyce got better, I was really worried about him being dehydrated, he didn't pee for 5 or 6 hours and we licking his lips constantly and I couldn't get him to drink some fluids.  He finally did and that was a relief, so I could give my attention to someone else.  Kanyon just laid on the couch all day long watching tv, he didn't get up for 5 or 6 hours straight, not even to go to the bathroom, so I just put a diaper on him.  Now that Tyce was feeling better, he wanted to play... with me.  He was constantly on me.   I would finally get to laying down and he would be right on me or Keyne would wake up and have to eat.  I had to force myself to drink and eat something so I could continue to feed Keyne.  I tried a bottle at one point and he had nothing to do with it.  Good thing we are feeling better today, I can at least move without thinking that I need to make a bad dash to the bathroom.  Kanyon has been playing and eating today, so that a plus too.  I think that poor Keyne is starting to get sick, he's just so sad today and you can tell he doesn't feel good.  Hopefully he's won't be too bad and we can be done with this sickness!

Oh what a week

Wow, this was a rough week.  There are several sicknesses going around... like RSV and the stomach flu.  Well we decided that stay in the house and be hermits all week.  It was really hard for the boys and me... we all need to get out of the house to socialize.  Well the beginning of the week wasn't too bad, we went to McDonalds a few times and the park and the boys were fine with that.  As the week went on, it got harder and harder.  Tyce ended up getting the stomach flu... and this one is not like the normal flu.  Usually the best part is that it is 24 hours.  Not this one, he has had it since Wednesday and it doesn't seem to be going away.  I have done countless loads of laundry because he gives no warning at all and he doesn't understand to go to the bathroom.  If he's not throwing up, he has a blow out (Keyne has had 4 or 5 of those too).  On top of all this, Kanyon has been really bored and so he gets frustrated and then emotional.  There have been several times when all three boys have just cried and I don't know who will get my attention.  I just really hope that no one else gets it!

I just couldn't wait any longer

The weather is beautiful today, 80 degrees with a slight breeze to cool you off.  So I couldn't resist going on a run.  Keyne's not quite 6 weeks but I figured what's going to change in the next few days.  I went 3 miles and it was pretty good, I was tired at the end.  I tend to forget that I just had a baby and that I'm not in high school anymore, so I'm not going to go as quick as I did the last time I ran.  About 1/2 mile into it, I got reminded why I HATE dogs.  All the times that I have run, I have never been chased by a dog.  Usually they leave you alone when you turn the other way, not these dogs.  They just kept on coming.   I panicked, I knew that I wasn't going to be able to out run them, so I figured that I would cross the street.  Luckily there was no one coming on my side of the street, because looking for cars didn't cross my mind at the moment.  So I was able to cross the street safely and I just went the other way.  I'm not going to go that way again anytime soon!  It felt so good just to get out and exercise again, even though I am going to be feeling it tomorrow, it was nice.  Half marathon or marathon here I come!

Happy Birthday Kanyon!

I cannot believe that Kanyon is 4 today, it just seems like he was a little baby not too long ago and now he's a big boy doing so much.  Kanyon is such a good kid, we were lucky to have him as our first baby, he was so content and happy.  Kanyon loves people and loves kids.  He has always been really good with the babies and little kids.   He plays well with everyone he meets.  He brings so much joy and happiness to our lives and I am so grateful for him.  WE LOVE YOU KANYON!Born at 12:03am on 03-04-05, 6 pounds 4 ounces.  There are no words to describe the feeling of meeting your child for the first time.6 months... gotta love those cheeks!1 year18 months2 year2 1/2 years3 years

Keyne's first bath

Keyne's belly button finally fell off last Friday, so we gave him his first bath tonight.  It took forever for it to fall off, we didn't clean it very well at the beginning and when we found out that we needed to clean it more, we over cleaned.  So it just wouldn't dry out but eventually it did.  Keyne was a little scared at first but than just enjoyed himself and just let me clean him.  I love it when he's content and just looks around at his surroundings, it is just so sweet!
