First Day of Snow!

For the first time in my life, I was actually ready and excited for the first day of snow. It felt weird to have Thanksgiving and not have any snow. I don't think we ever got past October without snow in WY, so going to almost of the end of November was just crazy to me. Kanyon was SO excited to wake up to snow this morning. He wanted to go out and play all morning. So when I finally decided to go out, they both were just thrilled. I don't think either of them realize how cold snow is... they must have forgotten. They still had fun. They helped me build a snowman and then played with their cars and toys. Just so happy to be outside!

Playing in his car, he loves this thing.

Our second snowman... the boys got to the first one. Not the best looking snowman, but good enough for me.

Showing off his gloves, his hands had to be freezing.

Black Friday

Wow what a crazy day. Since Terry had to work today, I had two choices for shopping: go when the stores open or take two boys with me. I decided to go early. It was insane. I was so amazed by how many people were actually out. This is my first time going this early, and it actually wasn't a horrible experience. Wal-Mart was packed, I don't think there wasn't a time that I wasn't touching someone or something. I had a hard time finding things, so I got a few things and then headed to Target. I eventually went back to Wal-Mart just to get a few last things.
Luckily Target wasn't as bad, I did have to wait outside for about 10 minutes before it opened. I had a few people comment on my flip flops (we got our first snow last night) and they thought I was crazy. I was glad I went to Target when I did because I got what I needed. Our big gift to the boys is a 16 in 1 sport table. I got there just in time to get one of the last ones, it was great timing! Plus someone was already there with a flat bed, so I didn't even have to lift it. Yay for good sales!
All in all going early wasn't too bad, I'm glad I'm done for the day because I don't plan on going to the store for quite some time now. I hope all of you got what you needed today!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It was a nice and quiet holiday for us. Luckily some friends invited us over to dinner, so we had some company. We had a fun time, the boys had a blast playing with their friends and all the adults had fun getting stuffed! I thought I would list a few things that I am thankful for. There is so much more, but not enough time to write them all.
I am thankful for:
My family
My wonderful husband and that plays "Mom" better than me sometimes
My two darling boys that keep me entertained
Being in a church that I love so much
Being pregnant (especially during Thanksgiving, so I could take seconds or thirds and not feel bad)
A warm house to come home to
My friends

I hope all of you had a great holiday!

Crazy Kids

Here are a few pictures of my goofy boys. Kanyon found these gloves in a bag and of course wanted to put them on. It hasn't been cold enough to wear them, so I haven't gotten them out. They both were pretty excited to find them. Tyce found a snow boot and slipper in his room and of course wanted to put them on. Man they have style!

Kanyon has blonde hair again. Eventhough I liked his hair brown and figure that eventually it will get to be brown, I missed his blonde hair. He just has such pretty highlights in it. I'm excited for it to be long and blonde once again!

Tyce went potty in the toilet!

Ever since we potty trained Kanyon, Tyce has been obsessed with the bathroom and going potty. Terry and I have put him on the toilet and nothing has happened. A couple of months ago he went pee but nothing since. Well tonight we were telling Kanyon to go potty and Tyce said that he needed to go potty. So he went downstairs and waited for me to open the door. I really didn't want to do it because my hip hurt and I figured it was going to be like all the other times, that he would just sit there, play with the toilet paper and then flush toilet. But he did it! I was so impressed and excited. I'm up for potty training him if he wants to, but the chances of him actually doing it are slim. But I guess now when he tells me he needs to go potty, I'll put him on the toilet and see if he really does.

Scrapbooking

For those who know me, you know that I like to scrapbook. Well I've decided that I love and hate scrapbooking. I enjoy doing it and getting to look at it in the end, but I like to stress about it too. Sometimes I stress so much about it that I lose sleep. This week I have been scrapbooking for one of Terry's coworkers and two nights I have woken up around 4:30 in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep because I would think about it. So I would get up and actually scrapbook in the middle of the night. I'm crazy I know! It's all worth it in the end though, I love going back and looking at older pictures.

Tyce's Laugh

Tyce has such a cute laugh and he laughs all the time. He will just start cracking up when you're playing with him, it's so funny. I know that this isn't the best video, the camera was on my lap so don't mind the whole filming. Just pay attention to Tyce. Not many people get to hear his sweet laugh because he can be a little shy, so here it is.

Mail for you!

The boys are so creative. They came up with this game awhile ago, and love to play it. They call it "mail" because they usually take a letter or piece of paper and slide in the cracks of the plastic on the stairs. They used to play it more frequently so I was so glad that they played it today so I could video tape them.

Yellow

Kanyon is such a funny boy. Ever since he has know colors, he has loved the color yellow. He learned that color right away. Lately it has become an obsession. He has to have everything yellow. When he choses to wear shirts they are allows yellow. Whenever he draws he draws with yellow. If there is a yellow toy he is always the one to get it. We have four yellow plates that he uses, and only he uses. It has worked in our benefit though. He likes food that is yellow. We can get him to eat corn on the cob because it's yellow. We were pleased when we moved into our house and Kanyon's room was already painted yellow!

Kanyon can spell

So I am so impressed and proud of my little boy. Every day this week I have taken 30 minutes a day to work on writing letters. He doesn't care for it when I try to go through the whole alphabet but he loves to write everyone's names. He is getting so good, I can't believe it. He can write his whole name by memory! It's not the prettiest, but it's sure good for a 3 year old. He can spell it out loud too. Here's video of him tonight, we didn't talk about his name at all before the video, it's all memory :).

Nursery

Well the nursery is pretty much done. There is a little touch up work that I still have to do and one wall that needs molding and a closet. But here is the nursery. I'm pretty excited about how it turned out. I like the colors. I'm super excited about the circles, they are these cool vinyl stickers and they looked so much better than I thought they would. I of course have a little more decorating to do.
Here is the bumper pad that I made. It's not perfect, but it sure beats paying $80 for one!

Happy Birthday to my mommy!

Today is my mom birthday. So Happy birthday to her! She is such an amazing person. As I get older and more mature, I appreciate her more and more. Being a mother isn't as easy as she made it look. I don't know how she had 9 chilren. I wish that I wouldn't have been such a brat in my teenager years, if I only knew what I know now :). She has been a great mother and grandma! I have learned so much from her and plan to lots more. She is such a loving and giving person, I would be honored to turn out like her! She is super woman in all that she does! I am so grateful for such a wonderful mom and that my children get her as grandma! We love you Mom and hope that you have a great birthday!

Busy Weekend

This weekend was actually pretty busy, but we were very productive. We decided to go to Dodge City instead of Wichita, it's just too far to go for shopping. I went to find some cute outfits for the new baby. For some reason (could be that I'm the youngest of nine and have to be unique), but I don't like to take pictures of the babies in the same outfits, so I always get them a few outfits. I try to make them unique and special. I'm sure since I'm having boys, they won't even care. I have decided that I was being pretty goofy when picking out clothes. I looked for clothes that I know that I have stamps that match the design. Silly me, already planning the scrapbook pages!

We then spent the rest of Saturday painting and getting the nursery put together. We are almost done, I finished painting the molding, window and door. So now all I have to do is put up the molding and then I can take pictures and put them up. Hopefully that will happen this week!

I love Sundays... we just get to play and relax. We tried not to have the TV on and just play with the kids. Well Terry played with the kids... it's getting harder and harder to get on the ground and actually play with them. Terry made them this ramp and they had a blast with it! Once again I'm grateful that Terry plays with them... when I just don't have the energy.

Smart Boys

Recently I have been working with Kanyon and his letters. We never get through the whole alphabet because I lose his attention when he doesn't understand. I have been so impressed with him though. He knows several letters and knows what they can spell. He knows that K is for Kanyon, T is for Tyce, D is for Daddy and M is for Mommy. He is also starting to write some of his letters. He writes all of the letters that he knows from memory and I can copy the other ones. We only get to L or M before he gets bored, so maybe next time I will have to work from there to get the rest of them in.

Tyce is starting to recognize shapes. I was so surprised when I drew a circle and he knew what it was. He knows circle, square, triangle and star. I love watching his little mind work when he's trying to remember something or figure something out. I'm so grateful that both of my boys are smart and that they both enjoy learning!

Gas Prices

So our gas prices here are down to $1.97 a gallon! I don't remember the last time I have paid under $2 for gas. I think it was about 3 years ago. The gas prices have just gone down like crazy here, sometimes it would go down 10 cents in one day. I really don't mind, it saves me money. I was so excited when I got gas and it didn't cost $90 to fill up. It really makes me want to go on a road trip... too bad everything is pretty far away. Maybe we'll get to Wichita and get some early Christmas shopping done!

Pregnancy Update

I had a doctor's appointment today and I am going to be 27 weeks tomorrow (yay for third trimester!) It wasn't the greatest experience in the world though. I got to the one hour glucose test and didn't know about it. So I had Tyce with me and told Terry not to come to the appointment. Poor Tyce was so bored, but he did a good job for the most part. I don't know about everyone else, but that drink sure doesn't make me feel very good, which doesn't help with being there for an hour or longer.

Well I got my blood pressure checked and it's 130/78, not horrible, but not good either. I have always had blood pressure issues with both boys, but they usually start a lot later than this. So that got me concerned because I know that I was at least 30 weeks with Tyce before it started to creep up. So now I get to go in every two weeks to make sure that my pressure is fine and not going up too much. I fear bed rest is going to be the result of all this and I don't know what I will do if they put me on bed rest... just the thought of it stresses me out!

I did get another ultrasound today. It's always fun to see the baby and watch him move, instead of just feeling it. He is still a boy and looks normal. To my surprise, he is breech. So hopefully gravity will kick in and soon he will start heading down.

All in all I'm doing just fine, I feel fine. The more kids that I have the more I realize that my body doesn't like pregnancy. Hopefully these next few months will go super fast!

My lucky boys!

The boys are just so lucky to have Terry as a dad. He is so great because the minute he walks in the door from work, his attention goes straight to them. They both love him so much (and prefer him over me). It is really nice because a lot of times I don't have the energy or strength to play with the boys like he does. This evening they all went outside with their lawn mowers and mowed the lawn. They always have so much fun together!

What a CRAZY week!

Wow, I'm glad that the week is over. I had a crazy week. I lots of things to do. I had to make costumes, plan trunk or treating, plan the Halloween party for school and of course dress up and go to many festivities. We had a fun week. The best part was going to a fall festival last night at a local church. They had lots of games that were great for both of the boys. They had food and candy and best of all, it was free! The boys are a little confused why we aren't dressing up any more. This morning Kanyon asked if we were going to go around and get candy at church today. Now that all this is over you would think that I could just relax. But I can't for some reason, I have been so busy that now I feel like if I sit down that I'm wasting time, time that I should be doing something. It's driving me crazy. Any ideas oh how to relax and not be so stressed?
